So after a mini break I am back. I took a mini break because I got extremely busy with work. As a new blogger I am still trying to balance my schedule some weeks are busier than others. I also wanted to take time to find the “focus” of my blog. My blog is mainly for everyone to find outfit inspiration but I want it to be so much more than that. I want to inspire but I also want to be helpful to you guys as well. I am going to be starting a “How To” series on my blog. It will consist of a lot of topics such as tips on finding your personal style, building a wardrobe, styling basics, etc. It will also show how to style different clothing items and trends. This will help answer a lot of questions you guys ask me. My first post of this series will be “How To Find Your Personal Style”.
Honestly, it took me a while to find my personal style. I wore outfits that I didn’t feel confident in, even though you could never tell. Your personal style has an impact on how you feel. If you don’t look your best you don’t always feel your best. Each day you should feel confident in yourself and what you wear. I spent a lot of time trying to find what I liked, what I didn’t like, and what worked best for my style. Quickly I realized that my style was very “girly” and that I was more of a “trendy” dresser. Here are some tips below that will help you find your personal style.
You can find inspiration from celebrities, fashion bloggers, magazines, pinterest, and Instagram. I made a pinterest board of different outfits that I liked. I recommend you doing this, it will help you see what styles you like and what styles you dislike.
Closet Clean Out
A closet clean out should be next on your list. Take everything out of your closet, clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories. Take a look at everything you have and keep only the things that you feel would go with the new style you are trying to achieve. You can take the clothes you no longer want then sell them at a consignment store to make money towards new clothes. Now you can begin to rebuild your new wardrobe.
Building a new wardrobe can be very expensive, trust me I know. It is important for you to shop smart because you are in need of buying a whole new wardrobe. Shopping at affordable places are the way to go because they are affordable and are up to date with the different trends. You should only splurge on staple pieces, for me those are shoes, handbags, and coats. Shopping at consignment and thrift stores are also ways to save money on new clothes.
Confidence is key! Having a confident mind set will definitely help you be more confident. We all have our days when we feel more confident than others. We must learn to keep all negative thoughts out of our mind and focus only on the positive. Dress our best so we feel our best. You must believe in yourself or no one else will.
